Whisky & Waterfalls, two things the Brecon Beacons is famous For
The Brecon Beacons is famous for its Waterfalls. The Four Waterfalls Walk attracts thousands of visitors each year who enjoy the walk through the Brecon Beacons that allows them to visit four of the best falls in Waterfall Country.
Penderyn, has won hundreds of global awards for its Whiskys since it established its first distilery in the Brecon Beacons.
On this tour, you can visit both of these world famous welsh icons in the same day.
Your driver for your tour of the National Park will meet you at your hotel at around 9:15am. Leaving Cardiff you will be driven north through the Rhondda Valley. This part of Wales has a rich coal mining history, and you will be driven up through the former coal mining communities in the valley, and up over the top of The Rhigos Mountain at the top of the valley.
The tour stops briefly on top of the Mountain overlooking Tower Coillery. The last coillery to close in South Wales, and now how to Zip World. The top of The Rhigos also provides stunning views across the Brecon Beacons National Park themselves
There is an additional fee for the Penderyn Tour which is not included in our tour fee.
Pre-booking is not essential, and it is possible to pay on the door on the door on the day, however this would be dependant on their availability on the day. We therefore recomend pre-booking your tickets directly for them. We are scheduled to arrive at the distillery around 10:45am, and this allows for a short stop on top of The Rhigos Mountain. Should you pre-book your tickets, we recommend booking the 11:00am tour. It may be possible to take the Penderyn Tour after the Four Waterfalls Walk, in which case we would recommend booking the 3:00pm tour at the distillery. If, due to the availability of Penderyns Tours, you need, or want to book an alternative different, please let us know and we will be happy to advise and adjust the tour accordingly
